PEOPLE by Amelia Kuulei Gora (2001) (updated 2010) One of Kamehameha’s descendants, a Royal Person not subject to the law(s)

The following was written with the purpose of showing the early contact period, the Pre-Monarchy Period through the Monarchy Period up till Kamehameha V. (Other Periods have been discussed and has been presented on various boards on this and other other forums as well.)

Number 1.

Utilization of Aged Documents for Land, Money, Water, etc. Ongoing Since 1863 Disregarding the True Heirs

Note: See the Department of Commerce Records for the Hamakua Sugar Company or Kohala Sugar case files for the frauds uncovered. Also see documents filed in the Affidavit/Lien No. 96-177455 on 12/17/96 (281 pages). Note that entity Territory of Hawaii – President appointed Governor Poindexter utilized Lot Kamehameha’s signature in 1935….nearly a 50 years After he died!

KOHALA SUGAR, the predecessors of Hamakua Mill/Hamakua Sugar was started by the missionaries utilizing documents of association signed by Minister of Interior, Lot Kamehameha, in 1863.

Kamehameha IV Alexander Liholiho was still in command at the time.

Note: The documents found by good researchers includes CW Ashford’s notes for it was he who perpetuated the lies and criminal activities affecting the Crown Lands, water rights, etc.

CW Ashford and his brother Volney Ashford were English subjects/dual citizens. Remember Volney Ashford was arrested with 20 others, along with Robert Wilcox the cousin of King David Kalakaua and Queen Liliuokalani. Volney Ashford and Robert Wilcox were tried for treason during Queen Liliuokalani’s period or approximately six (6) months before Congress gave the order to assume the Hawaiian Kingdom……read Books 1 and 2 above/ see below:

Number 2.

The Protestant Missionaries, the KOHALA SUGAR and other eventual plantations operating under the documents of 1863, were descendants of the English Pilgrims who had historically created a climate of hate, animosity, greed towards the indigenous peoples, the Indians.

The English Pilgrims and 50 years later, Captain James Cook left the location called Plymouth, England. The English Pilgrims landing in the Americas, named their already inhabited site Plymouth, Massachussetts.

A statement made by a well-known Protestant minister sets the climate of the times:

The woods were cleared of those pernicious creatures (Indians) to make room for a better growth.
Two well known ministers, Increase and Cotton Mather (father and son), wrote more than 450+ books. They were descendants of Richard Mather a minister suspended from the Church of Englands ministry and moved to Massachussetts where he created conflicts in the church.

**** A Look at the Wampaog Indians King Phillips War ****

The Wampaog tribe was nearly wiped out, many prisoners were taken into slavery.
King Phillip, the high chief was decapitated, his head was placed on a stick in the Massachussetts town square, on display till as late as 1700.

**** A Look at the Witchhunts of Massachussetts ****

The following books witten by the influential Protestant ministers moved the masses of people to witch hunts, hangings, killings, cruelty and punishment to many innocent people.

**** The Printing Presses of the Early Missionaries or Pilgrim Descendants ****

With the proud missionaries and their printing presses, it afforded news of all kinds to be dispersed to all learned men or cultured peoples including Plymouth, England, the former homes of the Pilgrims who had formed a Pact/Mayflower Compact, forming a new kind of government, a government in the already inhabited Americas.

Captain James Cook GRABBED kapu alii/chief Kalniopuu by the shoulder.

Cook failed to respect the cultural norms of the Hawaiian Society and was killed. No one was allowed to touch the kapu alii/chief and suffered the consequences, along with his men on shore.

After Captain James Cook and four of his men were slain, the English retaliated similar to the works of the English Pilgrim/missionaries on the Indians.

In Captain Cooks mens diaries/journals, they constantly referred to the kanaka maoli as Indians. (Notice the Protestant pilgrims influence.)

Three of our kanaka maoli alii/chiefs were decapitated, their heads were hung on the bows of the ship for all to see.

Hundreds of kanaka maoli were shot, many in their backs, fire was set to their homes.

(Notice the Protestant pilgrims influence see the previous entries of the Wampaog Indians and the slain Indians leader King Phillip.)

Thousands of kanaka maoli were killed, due to the disease infested men from Captain Cooks ships.

They had frequented many island shores, such as TAHITI, COOK ISLANDS and others leaving disease trails behind them.

The doctor knew that 66 were afflicted.

Note: It was suggested by some that the crew passed the disease among themselves.

The men knew they were afflicted/infected and yet blamed the kanaka maoli for being the cause of the later outbreaks.

The Protestant Missionaries in later years, accused the kanaka maoli as being the cause.

What about the depraved English sailors aching for sexual, bodily pleasures, which ultimately produced another human?

Note: Some of the babies were deformed, some died soon after child birth. The same outcome due to the introduction of Depleted Uranium/DU in the environment by Americans, English, et. als. has occurred or continues today.

Masses of cells clumped together is also a horrific outcome of Depleted Uranium/DU births.

It could be said that the English depraved lot is also applicable towards the description of the military tainted with DNA mutating genes affecting innocents in the World today.

Were whites exempt from the carnal evils preached by whites and caused by only people of color?

Meanwhile, thousands, hundreds of thousands of unborn kanaka maoli babies, women and men died.

Number 3. CATHOLICS IN HAWAII Kamehameha friend/consultant was name Paul Marin, or Paulo Manini, a Spaniard who baptized more than 300 chiefs into the Catholic religion.

Kamehameha (k) instructed his alii/chiefs to set aside the kapu system because he was a makaula/a seer and prophesied the dangers if the Hawaiian religion were continued.

Kamehameha began the Hawaiian Monarchy government in 1810.

Kamehameha treatied with Aetearoa (New Zealand) and the Samoan Islands and the three nations were recognized as the Pacific Empire.

Kamehameha died on May 18, 1819.

Kaahumanu (w), one of his wives, became the Kuhina Nui.

Her Cousin Kalanimoku (k) became the assistant and kahu of Kamehamehas son through another wife Keopuolani (w).

Kamehameha and Keopuolani (w) had Liholiho, Kauikeouli, Nahienaena, and six (6) unnamed others.

Note: The setting aside of the kapu system left the Hawaiian Society in a fragile condition, a period of Anomie social norms absent.

This was the perfect period for social change, a time for Opportunists to sell their bibles, preach their bibles, etc.

The main concern of Kamehameha was the ceasing of the ancient Kapu system with barbaric rituals which could have been the cause of the demise of the whole of the kanaka maoli society.

Kamehameha was a makaula, a seer, who operated partly with spiritual confidence aside from his physical confidence.

Due to the affects of the Papal Bull issues by the Pope in 1493 and the thrust towards all world civilizations with the claims of delineating the uncivilized vs. the civilized peoples, with intentions of destroying, plundering, and assuming lands, resources, etc. belonging to those suspected as being barbaric, etc., the rationale of our ancestor Kamehameha can be seen.

The Papal Bull was recently set aside after ongoing protests by aboriginal peoples which included kanaka maoli and American Indians.

Kalanimokus (k) mother had been baptized a Catholic and had requested for her family to follow.

Kalanimoku (k) whose wives included Akahi (w), my ancestor, and his brother Boki (k) were baptized Catholics aboard the French ship LURANIE.

Note: Kalanimoku (k), Boki (k) had siblings: Wahinepio (w), Manono Nui (w), Keoua (k) (my ancestor), et. als.

Kamehameha II Liholiho (k) wanted to be baptized also but chose not to because of stepmother Kaahumanu (w) the appointed Kuhina Nuis temper.

Number 4. PROTESTANTS/PILGRIMS DESCENDANTS INFLUENCE The First (1st) Company of American Protestant Missionaries sponsored by the American Board of Foreign Missions (ABFM) arrived in Hawaii on the THADDEUS at Kailua, Hawaii.

The American missionaries introduced the concept of Western marriages.

Their names are as follows: Rev. Hiram Bingham and wife Sybil Mosely Daniel Chamberlain and wife Jerusha Thomas Holman, M>D> and wife, Lucy Ruggles Elisha Loomis and wife, Maria Theresa Sartwell Samuel Ruggles and wife, Nancy Wells Rev. Asa Thurston and wife, Lucy Goodale Rev. Samuel Whitney and wife Mercy Partridge Three Hawaiian helpers: Thomas Hopu William Kaniu John Honolii

Note: The Missionaries were Mercenaries/American Mercenaries. It appears that Daniel Chamberlain is one of the ancestors of Daniel Akaka who pushes the Akaka Bill today, set in place to defraud, pirate assets, lands, resources, wealth of our kanaka maoli. Daniel Akaka is also a descendant of treasonous person, conspirator Thomas Akaka who worked with Dr. Mott-Smith, Lorrin Thurston, et. als. in Washington D.C. planning the wrongful, criminal dethronement of our Queen in 1892.

On April 27, 1823, the Second (2nd) Company of American Protestant Missionaries arrived from New England. They arrived on the ship THAMES captained by Reuben Clasby. The missionaries were the following: Rev. Artemas Bishop and wife Elizabeth E. Abraham Blatchley, M. amnd wife Jemima Marvin Levi Chamberlain and wife, Maria Patton Rev. James Ely and wife, Louisa Everest Rev. Joseph Goodrich and wife, Martha Barnes Rev. William Richards and wife, Clarissa Lyman Rev. Charles Samuel Stewart and wife Harriet Bradford Tiffany Miss Betsy Stockton Tahitian: Stephen Popohe Hawaiians: William Kamooula Richard Kalaioulu Kupelii

These mercenaries for the United States, armed with bibles, greed, jealousy, animosities, etc. quickly moved to encourage the kanaka maoli in joining their cause. They were opportunists who entered a Society which was in a state of anomie unstable, flux, grasping at all religions to substitute one that was in place for hundreds/thousands of years.

These mercenaries(backed by their government: the United States who also paid for their move, etc.) were operating from a slave-master society along with validation given to them through the Papal Bulls of 1493 by the Vatican to plunder upon barbarous societies.

The Papal Bulls of 1493 allowed killing of peoples, most of whom were all peoples of color.

On November 27, 1823, Kamehameha II Liholiho (k) and company sailed for England.

Kauikeaouli was named as heir apparent under Kaahumanus regency.

On July 8, 1824, Kamamalu (w) died, six days later, on July 14, 1824 her husband, Kamehameha II – Liholiho (k) died.

Both were afflicted with the measles, died in England and their bodies were returned unaccompanied by John Rives, Kamehamehas IIs childhood playmate who was a Catholic.

(Kamehameha II had seven wives. One was named Pali who married my great great grandfather.)

Kaahumanu (w) who took care of Liholiho (k) was so angry that it appears that the Protestant Missionaries saw it as an opportunity and took advantage of the situation.

Catholic Chiefs were tortured, imprisoned, put to hard labor. All Catholics were punished.

———————————- Summary:

The information has been placed on the internet due to requests by one of many new friends, namely Mutassdes. The above information covers part of the missionary/mercenary period of Hawaii and the United States revealing the similarities of labeling Hawaiian/ kanaka maoli “Indians” by Americans and Brittish.

Significantly, all countries will see some of the issues when exploring each time period with the missionaries/mercenaries in their homelands as well.

The United States government maintains that they will “protect the lives, and property of their own” actually means that Americans outside of the United States, once investing in foreign soil is also investing as private investors in foreign lands due to the taxes, etc. due to the United States.

As with out ancestors and the Great Mahele/Land Division period, Kamehameha III/King Kamehameha III, foreigners were given “freehold” paperwork, less than “allodial” paperwork.

Americans (and others including British subjects/dual citizens, et. als.) then rewrote the meanings, destroyed old books that has the true definitions and proceeded to accommodate and deviate by helping themselves through devious manipulations of paperwork, legalities, etc.

Although the United States and others tried to write history as Hawaii being barbaric, that charge could not be maintained due to the activities uncovered in conspiracies, deviance, FRAUD, criminal manipulations via the paper trails which exists in Monarchial and other such governments.

FRAUD vitiates all claims, all contracts, which also covers all the bases for the many, excessive amount of reasons why the UNITED NATIONS can and must cease to exist.

A formation of a new entity or return to the Law of Nations must be made for the purpose of ongoing respect to each country knowing that the United States has indeed set everyone up based on FRAUD, CONSPIRACIES, DEVIANCE and as documented by Queen Liliuokalani in 1893 has BREACHED THE LAW of NATIONS.

The continued survival of all ANCIENT nations, countries, societies must recognize the importance of the LAW of NATIONS versus the manipulations and maneuvers by United States etals who maintains the documented charge of BREACHES by Hawaii’s Queen Liliuokalani, Kingdom of Hawaii, a Monarchy government turned Constitutional Monarchy.

The Kings bloodlines EXIST, Kamehameha’s descendants are Royal Persons and NOT SUBJECT TO THE LAWS.

The Sovereigns, namely King Kalakaua, bloodlines and heirs exist and much to the despair, despair of the entity calling themselves the State of Hawaii with documented OPPOSITION and wrongfully backed by the United States with ongoing and unresolved issues affecting ALL NATIONS today.

Oppositions to War, financed at the expense of the Kingdom of Hawaii and our Kamehameha Families, Royals Families is UNACCEPTABLE.

It is with ongoing hope and prayers that these efforts via the Internet are indeed purposeful and useful in maintaining the continued safety from harm by those who make BUSINESS OF WAR and set their goals on PLUNDERING UPON INNOCENTS for greed, power, animosities towards all people of color, etc………It is imperative that our kanaka maoli document that the United States is indeed a terrorist nation, a nation supporting genocide activities in our Hawaiian Islands through the premeditation moves by Congress, the U.S. President Benjamin Harrison, and other U.S. Presidents perpetuating the crimes of the past….It is imperative that the two (2) issues: 1) terrorist nation/terror nation and 2) genocide activities ongoing be documented in the World Courts and added to the Sandanistas who have already documented the U.S.(and partner in crime England, the Morgan bankers, etc.) as a terrorist/terroristic/terror and genocide activist, etc. nation …………….aloha nui loa.

Amnesty International botches blame for North Korea’s crumbling healthcare
“Economic sanctions are, at their core, a war against public health.”
–The New England Journal of Medicine

By Stephen Gowans

If we recognize that “economic sanctions are, at their core, a war against public health” and acknowledge, as a former US president has, that North Korea is “the most sanctioned nation in the world,” it is difficult not to draw the obvious conclusion: that the crumbling of North Korea’s healthcare system is due to sanctions. How is it, then, that a new Amnesty International report blames Pyongyang’s “failed or counterproductive” policies, while saying not a word about sanctions?

The real story on North Korea and its healthcare

By Stephen Gowans

Perhaps, the real story about North Korean healthcare isn’t the challenges it faces, or the systematic efforts of the United States to make it collapse, but the fact that it hasn’t collapsed despite these challenges, and has managed to earn the praise of the WHO as the envy of many developing nations.

> Congress, White House react to ‘Top Secret America’
> On Monday morning, Acting Director of National Intelligence David C. Gompert weighed in on the reporting in The Washington Post series “Top Secret America.”
> As the day progressed, lawmakers and White House press secretary Robert Gibbs weighed in as well.
> “Do you have any problem with what the Post published? Did it in your view compromise national security?” Gibbs was asked at the daily briefing Monday.
> “Well, look, I’m not going to get into some of the discussions that we had,” Gibbs said. “Obviously there were some concerns. And I think The Post covered that there were some concerns, about certain data and the availability of some of that data.”
> The Post reported that it allowed government officials to see the ‘Top Secret America’ Web site several months ago and asked if there were any specific concerns about the upcoming revelations.
> Gibbs called providing for intelligence infrastructure “a balancing act” between “ensuring that we have both the best capabilities in the world” and “not wasting taxpayer dollars.”
> At the Capitol, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was coming under “increasing pressure to end her standoff with the White House on Congressional oversight of the intelligence community,” The Hill reported. And Sen. Kit Bond (R-Mo.), the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, pointed to The Post series to argue for speedy passage of the revised intelligence authorization bill unanimously passed by his panel Monday.
> “We can do more to keep our nation safe, and improving Congressional oversight and ensuring the top spy chief has the authority needed to streamline our intelligence community are the first steps,” he said.
> Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.), the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement that the first story in the series showed the need to reform the intelligence bureaucracy:
> The first story in this series generally tells us a lot of what was already known–the national security bureaucracy is large, redundant and lacks the nimbleness to respond to threats posed to our nation. The first installment somewhat overstates the problem of intelligence growth by conflating intelligence and defense activities, but it supports my long-held belief that the answer to addressing threats to American security won’t come in the form of a larger intelligence bureaucracy. It will come from building a streamlined and integrated national security community that is capable of quickly responding to current and emerging threats.
> In 2006, as chairman of this committee, we examined this issue and issued a report that found problems with bureaucratic growth at the top and a lack of urgency and direction within the intelligence community. It is frustrating that years later, others are looking at this issue and finding the exact same problems.
> Congressional Republicans have pushed for years to address these issues, by seeking to limit bureaucratic growth at our intelligence agencies and focusing scarce national security dollars towards operations and away from agency headquarters. Republicans also have fought successfully to cut pork-barrel spending in the annual intelligence bill by eliminating the earmarks that fuel some of the unnecessary growth and don’t offer the American people the transparency they need or deserve for directed spending.
> Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee will continue to push to get resources and funding to our intelligence professionals in the field and out of Washington. As we have in the past, we will continue efforts to limit bureaucratic growth, redundancy and earmarks in future intelligence bills to get money where it is needed most–providing for the security and protection of our nation.

Aloha kakou e wahines,

Over our retired years I have gone to salons with wife and daughters. In my younger years I never went into these operations except on fire business concerning then pressurized containers.

Click this video on and make like you are doing your nails. fingers and toes. While the inference is on workers in these salons, customers share the same environment.

Chemicals like toulene and acetones are highly regulated substances because they are not only physically dangerous they are equally toxic.

Have you ever come home and so happy with your nails and toes show your husband or other-half but when he like kiss you get one spliting headache? It is not your husband. You have been exposed!. Air conditioning systems in these parlors are not regulated and normally recycle the so called “processed air”

But you ladies are not alone. You kanes, if you like me and no can reach your toes unless you get a heart attack, some of us go and get my feet shaved and toes adjusted two or three times a year. But I no paint!

More importantly, the instruments used in finger and toes nails manicuring are usually not “sterilized”. Most of these salon operators and workers come from countries that don’t have any health regulations.

Be careful what salon you patronize. Cleanliness is godliness. I would even wear a mask like some of the salon workers do. While these chemicals are usually regulated, there applcations are a “free for all” based upon making the buck. Multi-chaired operations means greater exposure. In the video, they focus on “workers rights” Rest assured, you customers are being exposed too! Common sense is applicable; the more you go to the salon, the more frequent the exposure. The nasty thing of such chemicals, they accumulate in your system. Salons like resturants are regulated by the Board of Health, and if their regulations were fully enforced, 75 % of the restaurants would be closed. Beauty salons are not exempt. Be cautious, the Hawaiian Nation needs us all for we get plenty for do. We all need to go back into the lo’i, that way no need worry about finger ande toe nails.

Anyway, most of you think I am nuts, so take it with a grain of salt. But remember, there was a time in history the mineral “salt” was worth more than money in your pocket today.

Thank God, toilet paper remains uncontaminated? If not, I would have died years ago and not be bothering you guys..

Aloha ke Akua,

Dear John,

Do you know it is legal for cosmetics manufacturers to use chemicals linked to cancer and reproductive harm in their products?

These toxic chemicals are used in nail salons every day and as a result, nail salon workers are at risk. It’s time to STAND UP for workers rights!

The Safe Cosmetics Act is a piece of legislation that will help protect workers in nail salons from unsafe chemicals in salon products. The legislation will also give these workers more information about the chemicals used in the products that they work with everyday. In order for this to pass, we need you to TAKE ACTION!

Workers can and should be protected from exposure to toxic chemicals in their workplaces.

Tell your Congress member to protect nail salon worker health by supporting safe cosmetics legislation! Sign the Petition!

from Jack De Feo:

“Heterodox doctrines, in economics and elsewhere, often fail to get adequately discussed in their formative stages: both the intellectual and the political establishment tend to regard them as unworthy of notice. Meanwhile, those doctrines can seem compelling to large numbers of people (some of whom may have considerable political clout, large financial resources, or both). By the time it becomes apparent that such influential ideas demand serious attention after all, reasoned argument has become very difficult. People have become invested emotionally, politically, and financially in the doctrine; careers and even institutions have been built on it; and the proponents can no longer allow themselves to contemplate the possibility that they have taken a wrong turning.”

> There is no modern slavery
> In school we learned about slavery in his-story class. According to his story, slavery looked like this:
> We learned that slavery in the US formally “ended” in 1865. By this was meant that “Negroes” were no longer auctioned in chains right off the boat from Gambia.
> Later on we discovered that being of African origin was not a precondition to being a slave. The Romans, for example, liked their slave-meat white…
> The Roman Empire was built on military might and slave labor. Rome practiced overt slavery in a rigid caste system: Senators were aristocrats, Romans were Free Men and pretty much everyone else were slaves. Except for the liberti, or liberated ones:
> Freedmen and freedwomen, called liberti, formed a separate class in Roman society at all periods. These people remained few in numbers, but Rome needed to demonstrate at times the great frank spirit of this “civitas”, and so trumpeted the freed slaves as hopeful examples. They might grow rich and influential, but free-born Romans still looked down on them as vulgar nouveaux riches.
> You too can aspire to become a liberti!
> Where does his story end and our story begin? His story ends when the social, political and economic cost of enslaving bodies became too high. Our story begins when the chains and shackles were reformulated to enslave minds instead of bodies. These bonds are not cast in iron, but in ideas. Memes. Brain chains.
> These brain chains are forged from an early age. Ignorance is carefully administered during the young slave’s lives. Enslave the mind and the body will follow to its own destruction if so commanded.
> Brain chains move millions. These are their bodies. Where are the chains?
> The American dream is the capitalist meme: EVERYONE CAN BE RICH. Small print: except the guy who picks up the garbage, the gal who mops the floors and the remaining 99% percent of the slaves population.
> We modern slaves owe our soul to the company store. So instead of money, we get debt, which is just like money except that instead of making us richer, it makes us poorer… and we get to work for decades to pay back for the privilege!
> Mental slavery is the strongest and most pernicious of all slaveries, but it has one vital weakness: when the chains break, there IS NO GOING BACK. The mind, once freed, can never more be cast in chains. And a free mind makes a free human, and free humans resist against the system EVERY F*CKING STEP OF THE WAY.
> All that remains now is to take the test and clear your doubts. Are you a modern slave? The test is based on a quote by Mike Rivero at What Really Happened (blogroll left!):
> Slaves cannot say NO
> Think about that. Is there anything in your life you’d like to say NO to, but are afraid that if you do you will be excluded or even imprisoned?
> Refer to Rule number two until you’re ready. For once and for ever. For real.

> Financial Reform Bill Strengthens Whistleblower Protections
> Legislation is “Home Run” for Whistleblowers
> ( Washington , D.C. ) – The Government Accountability Project (GAP) is praising the newly passed Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (HR 4173) today for four cornerstones of strengthened accountability related to whistleblowing.
> “Congress has hit a home run for whistleblowers,” declared GAP Legal Director Tom Devine . “This reform has teeth, because Congress wisely is protecting frontline witnesses who are critical to enforcing it.”
> The new legislation has four provisions strengthening whistleblower rights:
> 1) Anti-retaliation rights for financial industry employees (Section 1057): The law has ‘best practice’ rights modeled after those in the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act. Whistleblowers and those who refuse to violate the law have the right to a jury trial governed by modern legal burdens of proof to challenge ensuing retaliation.
> 2) Expansion of whistleblower protection rights under the Sarbanes-Oxley law (Sections 922(c) and 929A): In 2002, the landmark Sarbanes-Oxley law for accountability at publicly-traded corporations created a paradigm shift for whistleblowers by giving them access to jury trials in court when they fail to obtain a timely ruling at the Department of Labor. Unfortunately, the majority of cases have been dismissed due to two procedural Achilles’ heels: a 90-day statute of limitations that has meant most whistleblowers’ rights expire before they even know about them; and loopholes exempting protection for employees of a parent company’s subsidiaries and affiliates, where corruption often occurs.
> 3) Bounty provision for CFTC and SEC disclosures (Sections 748 and 922): The law includes provisions providing payments to whistleblowers for disclosures of violations to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Commodities Future Trading Commission (CFTC). These incentives are modeled after a similar program at the IRS. GAP warns, however, that the IRS experience has been a dangerous exercise for whistleblowers. That agency has only delivered token compensation in practice.
> 4) Best practice anti-retaliation rights for SEC employees (Section 1057): SEC whistleblowers are covered by the corporate free speech rights in section 1057. They join Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Department of Energy employees as the only federal government whistleblowers who currently have court access to jury trials when harassed. Devine commented, “This is a welcome precedent for federal whistleblowers, but the piecemeal reform arbitrarily excludes CFTC employees. After ten years of effort, it is time for Congress to restore consistent rights by completing the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act. Congress is on a roll providing accountability through free speech rights in the private sector. It is long past time to extend that accountability to the government.”
> The law also clarifies that there is a three year statute of limitation for retaliation claims in the False Claims Act, 31 USC 3730(h), clarifying inconsistent precedents.
> Government Accountability Project
> The Government Accountability Project is the nation’s leading whistleblower protection organization. Through litigating whistleblower cases, publicizing concerns and developing legal reforms, GAP’s mission is to protect the public interest by promoting government and corporate accountability. Founded in 1977, GAP is a non-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization based in Washington , D.C.

OEN is a place where we choose to be open enough to allow these kinds of questions.

It’s a place that is non-profit, that needs your support to keep doing the work we do, to keep allowing the open forum that takes place here with such fertile energy. The other day, a reader from Turkey wrote me, opining that his income did not enable him to contribute. That’s okay. Progressivism Fails Because Democrats are Afraid to Advance a Progressive Agenda
That Americans are not supportive of progressivism is largely a conjured up fear to excuse a failure to advance a progressive agenda and win support from Democratic Party leaders for progressive change. The American people support progressive ideas. They just need real progressive leadership that promotes a vision and future where these progressive ideas are indeed viable and practical.

Aloha kakou,

In the past I have share my mana’o on the indoctrination that you and I have been exposed to termed “Manifest Destiny” for the good of less civilized cultures by the Utopia of the civilized cultures of European and so-called New World of North Americas.

Modern day indoctrination has been replaced with concepts labeled “Engineered Consent” or getting you to consent to your actual demise with your unknowing full assistance. In the 1930’s, these “Altered Minds” became a reality in the battlefields of WWII and then perfected in the Manchurian Candidates of the “Korean Conflict”.

But there is a greater threat to our well-being that we conduct ourselves at least three or four times a day.

May I again bother you with another frightening insight that for the past 40 years or more we as consumers have overlooked and regard its present in our daily being as “good for our own welfare”, fluoridation of toothpaste and in water systems, drinking and agriculture application.

Fluoride is the by-product of producing aluminum in all forms. Fluoride is consider one the most toxic known substances man has created. So toxic it can not be buried in the earth nor dumped into the ocean floor. It may even be the bottom line of what NASA’s space exploration is all about, to dump hazardous substances.

As a 17 years old in the Roman Army I witnessed another toxic substance that is experimented upon active duty personnel. In a foreign country duty one could get Article 15 of the Uniformed Military Code for drinking unauthorized water. In every quarters there were Water Bags doped with Chlorine to prevent diarrhea for one can not shit and shoot at the same time. But test results 30 to 40 years later via autopsy revealed those twenty year or more retired war daddy’s with abundant cases of cardio disease and cancer all having common deposits of chlorine substance.

But now there is fluoride in all military reservations and all federal funded domestic drinking water systems. The perfect hazardous waste dump is the human body that can bear is toxic exposure for thirty or forty years with the only outwards appearance being docility. Docility, the perfect mood against contesting trends and policies of a government that is anti-people while making trillions of dollars on war machines.

Please spend some of your precious time in looking into issues of our environment. We must stop the pollution for what good is it to restore a Nation that is environmentally bankrupt. Research and attend hearings or community meetings, and contribute monetary donations to help those that are helping humanity. We are so involved with standing for truth everyday we don’t realize that are tomorrows may be (doa) dead on arrival.

What good is a pretty teeth with a decayed brain and will?
Please look into and support the efforts of and Keep in touch with our farmers and the charge of Dr.keoni dudley in the Ewa Plain herald as Ho’opili. Remember this, those that are doing this to the aina have no intentions of remaining here.

ALOHA Kakou, I read on CounterPunch that THEY are thinking about using Agent Orange for Weed Control. If this Happens, we are all DEAD…………………. o Pomai

July 13, 2010
The Return of Agent Orange
The Escalating Chemical War on Weeds

A few weeks back, the New York Times made mention of an astounding development, which has, for whatever reason, received little fanfare or recognition. Despite its Vietnam War notoriety, Agent Orange is in vogue again, this time down on the farm. Its reemergence, and in this particular setting, raises a host of troubling questions that are not being well considered.

Over the past year, there have been increasing reports of emerging superweeds resistant to Roundup, the preferred weedkiller of America’s farmers. Roundup is sold in tandem with Roundup-ready seeds, both marquee products of the Monsanto Corporation. In the 1990s, when the latter product hit the market, it was momentous, revolutionary – a godsend: Roundup-ready seeds are genetically designed to resist application of the potent herbicide. By sowing Roundup-ready seeds and dousing their fields with the trademark weedkiller, farmers could forego the expense and toil of tilling the land, and losing valuable topsoil in the process. Production was enhanced, time and money saved. It was quite an economic boon to farmers, at least in the short run. Environmentalists were also pleased in light of the topsoil angle. Needless to say, Monsanto was thrilled that farmers were even more dependent on its products.

But for years critics ominously warned that, as is the nature of ‘nature,’ weeds would eventually evolve to withstand Roundup. Monsanto brushed aside such concerns, saying it would be ages before anyone had to worry about something like that. The glory days lasted about a decade. The superweeds evolved faster than anyone imagined– and with a vengeance. Farmers accustomed to drenching their fields with Roundup are now battling a monster breed of pigweed that, the New York Times reports, “can grow three inches a day and reach seven feet or more…so sturdy that it can damage harvesting equipment.”

Nature has issued quite a challenge to our ‘weed solution.’ The chemical industry has decided to respond in turn with Agent Orange. To be precise, Dow Chemical is working on seeds that are resistant to 24-D, a component of Agent Orange… presumably because it intends on spraying farmland with wartime defoliant.

This is alarming on a number of fronts. But let’s be clear on one thing at the outset: we don’t necessarily need Agent Orange to deal with weeds. The Amish don’t. Never have. Superweeds– like superbugs (or superbacteria) emerging in concentrated chicken farms– are the product of industrial agriculture, which aims to squeeze as much as possible from the land, and has selected monoculture as the optimal means of doing so. Grow one crop, in great density, on huge tracts of land, demanding tremendous output. Hence the Iowa corn fields, which stretch as far as the eye can see. There’s only one problem with this: nature does not ‘farm’ this way. Monoculture is highly vulnerable to pests, disease and weeds. In monocultivated fields, predators find a vast pool of identical, fat, helpless victims. In contrast, nature ‘farms’ a diversity of crops amidst one another, which do not succumb en masse to any given plague.

We have insisted on monoculture in order to produce as much as possible. Today, we’re able to extract 6 times more corn from an acre of land than 100 years ago. Industrial agriculture is to be commended for that impressive efficiency. And I know how its apologists – Dow and Monsanto included– would defend the institution and its manic drive for production. Industrial agriculture is necessary, they would say, to feed the world: you can’t feed upwards of six billion people by farming like the Amish.

Though I am not qualified to contest this claim fully, I can think of one important fact that casts doubt upon it. In this country, industrial agriculture’s immense bounty has wrought skyrocketing rates of obesity, heart disease, diabetes. Agribusiness has not exactly harnessed its awesome technological advances to feed the world, but rather, to cram as many excess calories as possible into citizens of the industrial world. In particular, its bounty has subsidized a profusion of cheap fast and processed foods. Indeed, two of Monsanto’s most popular Round-up ready products are corn and soy, the building blocks of our processed foods.

So, it seems clear, at least in the US, industrial agriculture can step off the gas pedal. We could use an Amish revolution across the farm belt. If we adopted Amish style polyculture, our farms might well produce less. But would that be such a bad thing? Polyculture would certainly produce less of the staple commodities, corn and soy, and less processed food in turn. It would make for a healthier—lighter– nation.

But we cannot settle for less. We must have more.

We’re so hell-bent on maintaining our voracious consumption habits, that we’ll engage the services of the defense industry. We’ll use Agent Orange to fight off weeds and ensure the delivery of cheap corn to Frito-Lay, Coke and Kelloggs; and when megaweeds evolve to withstand Agent Orange—eighteen-foot-tall weeds, stems like tree trunks—we’ll reach for the napalm. ‘Napalm-ready’ soy; that’s our future.

All in the name of productivity, efficiency, convenience– profit. For you see, farming as nature ordains it fails on all fronts. Nature does not cut it in the USA.

We think nothing of wantonly poisoning the land on which we depend for sustenance. We have gravely degraded the rich topsoil of the Prairies, much of which has flowed down the Mississippi into the Gulf of Mexico (and is now covered in a slick of oil, I presume). Our herbicides, pesticides and fungicides have stripped the land of natural nutrients, which we aim to supply in chemical doses. And when agricultural problems arise– problems that are the product of our industrial, chemical practices– we administer more of the same. Actually, I’m wrong: in the case of Agent Orange, we administer stronger poisons, as if we aim to twist Nature’s arm—as if we could. As if we could subdue her, and force her to do our bidding: ‘You WILL give us Cheetoes at 20 cents to the pound– or else!’

It is of course hubris. Not to mention tremendously short-sighted. What do we think, soaking the fields in Agent Orange? Surely, Dow must know that the very application of this chemical in strong, widespread and longterm doses is precisely the doom of this product: these are the very conditions that encourage—dare!– superweeds to evolve. So what are the chemical companies playing at? What’s the game plan? Do they intend to graduate to ever more potent and dangerous herbicides? Surely that can’t be sustainable. Or do they hope to mix and match chemical herbicides, to keep the weeds off balance? That seems marginally safer, at best. And does anyone know how these chemicals fare in the environment, once combined, over the course of years? Or is Dow simply aiming for Monsanto’s promised land, an herbicide-seed combination that will corner the market, and inflate company stock in the short run?

Besides the fact that we would use these chilling chemicals in the production of our food, no less. Agent Orange is accused of having caused birth defects in Vietnam, and increased rates of cancer among American veterans of the war there. Dow has disputed these claims. And yet, in light of Agent Orange’s reputation, it is surprising that Dow would press on with its use in food production nonetheless. This shows tremendous gall. Or shocking disrespect for the consumer.

Even if, as Dow argues, the harmful effects of Agent Orange are uncertain, why risk it? Why mess with this wartime defoliant when proven, though less obscenely prolific, farming methods beckon? In the end, it all comes back to us: what do we want? What do we demand of our food and farms? Do we demand piles of cheap, throwaway calories in toxic doses, which require us to squeeze nature mercilessly? Nature will not put up with this for long; as the superweeds attest, she’s already rebelling.

Ivy nanoparticles a safer and more effective option for sunblock

Just as an examination of the burrs of seeds that kept sticking to his clothes led Swiss engineer, George de Mestral, to develop Velcro, a search for an explanation as to why the ivy in his backyard clung to this fence so tightly has led Mingjun Zhnag to a new discovery. It seems that tiny particles secreted from ivy rootlets could have applications for military technologies, medical adhesives, drug delivery and, most recently, sun-block that could protect skin from UV radiation at least four times better than the metal-based sunblocks found on store shelves today. Dissolving microneedle patches – clean, painless, longer-lasting vaccinations

Doctors have been using hypodermic needles for more than 150 years – but syringe vaccinations could be just about to be replaced by a simple patch you can stick on your arm with no medical supervision. The microneedle patches have an array of microscopic needles on them that penetrate the skin just deep enough to dissolve and deliver a vaccine without causing any pain. There’s no sharp hazardous waste left over, they’re no more expensive than a syringe, and most importantly, tests on mice are showing that microneedle vaccinations are significantly longer-lasting than deeper injections delivered by syringe. ‘Terahertz’ speed signal processor an important step for optical computing

It’s a sign of the times when the speed of electrons moving through wires is seen as pedestrian, but that’s increasingly the case as technology moves towards the new world of optical communication and computing. Optical communication systems that use the speed of light as the signal are still controlled and limited by electrical signaling at the end. But physicists have now discovered a way to use a gallium arsenide nanodevice as a signal processor at “terahertz” speeds that could help end the bottleneck. Read More

Underwater Voraxial Separator to be trialed in Gulf Oil Spill

Last week, Florida-based Enviro Voraxial Technology (EVTN) announced that it has received a purchase order from BP for an underwater version of its Voraxial 4000 Separator. Mounted on a skimmer vessel, the machine takes oil-laden water from the sea and spins it at high speed in a central cylindrical chamber. The resulting centrifugal force pulls the water to the outer edges of the chamber, leaving the oil in the middle. Once separated, that oil is then captured and stored in onboard holding tanks, while the water flows back into the ocean. BP wishes to try out their single 4000 on a trial basis, with an eye towards using multiple machines for cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Read More

Liquid armor that hardens on impact to protect frontline troops

As part of a project to create future body armor offering soldiers greater ballistics protection and ease of movement, scientists and engineers at BAE Systems have developed a liquid which hardens when struck. The technology, dubbed “liquid armor” by its developers, harnesses the unique properties of shear thickening or dilatant fluids that “lock” together when subjected to a force and is designed to enhance the existing energy absorbing properties of material structures like Kevlar. Artificial intelligence could determine what plays will win the game

If there’s one thing that sports fans love to debate, it’s coaching strategies. “Why didn’t he keep more players back to play defense?” “How come he had him pass instead of run with it?” “He should never have let that guy bat when the bases were loaded!” Such discussions could seemingly go on forever, as it’s impossible to definitively say what the right course of action would have been… or maybe not. Artificial intelligence researchers at Spain’s Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) are developing technology that could analyze a team’s performance, then objectively determine the best plays for specific situations. Just What Is America Doing all Over the World?
By Doug Bandow

Doug Bandow is the Robert A. Taft Fellow at the American Conservative Defense Alliance ( and a Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute. A former Special Assistant to President Ronald Reagan, he is the author of Foreign Follies: America’s New Global Empire (Xulon Press, 2006).

In one of the most celebrated debate exchanges of the 2008 presidential campaign, GOP contender Rep. Ron Paul pointed out that Americans were hated because they were “over there” in Islamic lands. In fact, there is virtually no country on earth where American forces are not located.

Luckily, most people in most of those nations are not trying to kill Americans. In fact, many foreigners enjoy being protected at U. S. expense. Alas, Washington’s desire to garrison most of the earth’s surface helps explain why Uncle Sam is effectively bankrupt.

In fact, it’s hard to keep track of America’s many overseas military installations. By one Pentagon count there are 865 foreign facilities. But that doesn’t count bases in Afghanistan and Iraq, which probably pushes the total past 1000.

There are 268 in Germany, 124 in Japan, and 87 in South Korea. Many of these are small, but the numbers are still incredible. Moreover, writes David Vine of American University:”Others are scattered around the globe in places like Aruba and Australia, Bulgaria and Bahrain, Colombia and Greece, Djibouti, Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Romania, Singapore, and, of course, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba — just to name a few. ”

The expense of these facilities is just not the buildings, gates, fences, and other physical plant. There are the many people services — hospitals, commissaries, chow halls, and more. Finally, costs include paying and training personnel, more than 1.4 million active duty worldwide. Plus caring for millions of family members.

There are nonfinancial costs too. Argues Vine:”Military families suffer painful dislocations as troops stationed overseas separate from loved ones or uproot their families through frequent moves around the world. While some foreign governments like U. S. bases for their perceived economic benefits, many locals living near the bases suffer environmental and health damage from military toxins and pollution, disrupted economic, social, and cultural systems, military accidents, and increased prostitution and crime. ”

Bases also often are seen as an endorsement of ugly authoritarian regimes, such as those in Central Asia. In fact, the price of maintaining such installations frequently is formal political and economic support for the host governments.

Advocates of an imperial presence abroad like to argue that it is cheaper to station forces overseas than at home since some countries pay “host nation support. “But that ignores the fact that it is America’s foreign commitments, backed by bases all over the world, which generate the need for such a large military.

Many policymakers act as if the number of U. S. soldiers, marines, airmen, and sailors is set by the stars, the position of the sun, or the phase of the moon. With no discretion in the number of military personnel, the only question for Washington is where to put them. So dump them in countries which help pay to maintain them.

But U. S. troop levels are not a matter of geography, fixed for all time. They are a matter of choice. The choice to act like the world’s policeman.

The Bible tells us that God worries about even a sparrow falling to earth. So does Uncle Sam, who insists on being consulted about virtually every other nation’s economic policies, political systems, human rights records, military forces, international objectives, and more.

According to the Defense Department, there are 140,000 U. S. personnel in Iraq. There we are trying to create a Western-style democracy along the Euphrates. The objective has gone from turning the entire Middle East into an idyllic replica of Switzerland to just avoiding a collapse like in Lebanon three decades ago.

Another 90,000 Americans are in Afghanistan. With al-Qaeda virtually absent from that nation (and Osama bin-Laden long gone to Pakistan), the U. S. now is pursuing a different mission. Alas, it’s not exactly clear what. Apparently the administration hopes to turn the corrupt, illegitimate Karzai regime into a respected, competent, and effective central government. A wonderful ideal, but neither realistic nor a strategic interest worth war for the U. S.

About 52,000 American troops are in Germany. Obviously the most populous and prosperous country at the center of Europe doesn’t need defending. The likelihood of Russian troops marching on Berlin and clambering up the Bundestag building is somewhat akin to that of the Martians landing and conducting a modern War of the Worlds.

The only other reason to have forces in Germany is because that country is closer to other places where Washington wants to send U. S. personnel — but shouldn’t. German bases once devoted to preventing a Red Army conquest are now handling casualties from Iraq and Afghanistan. However, if the U. S. wasn’t promiscuously warring on other nations, it wouldn’t need a German way-station in Europe.

There are 36,000 troops in Japan. World War II ended 65 years ago, but Washington apparently hasn’t noticed. With the second largest economy on earth, Japan could do whatever is necessary to defend itself. Instead, Tokyo expects America to sacrifice Los Angeles if necessary to protect Tokyo.

Roughly 29,000 American military personnel are in South Korea. U. S. forces have been stationed there for 60 years, the first three in a very hot war. The South has the world’s 13th largest economy, with about 40 times the GDP of North Korea. The Republic of Korea’s population is twice that of the North. Surely Seoul could defend itself without American assistance.

Smaller numbers of Americans are spread throughout the world. About 11,000 afloat in the Pacific. Roughly 10,000 in Italy. Some 9,000 in the United Kingdom. More than a thousand each in Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Bahrain, and Djibouti. Hundreds of people in Greece, Greenland, Netherlands, Portugal, Australia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Canada, Diego Garcia, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Cuba (Guantanamo Bay), Honduras. Smaller numbers are sprinkled elsewhere.

Advocates of this imperial military presence — how better to characterize a thousand military installations around the world? — denounce anyone suggesting retrenchment as an “isolationist. “But why is bombing, invading, and occupying other nations considered to be a positive form of “engagement”?

It certainly isn’t in America’s interest. With a $13 trillion national debt and a $1. 6 trillion deficit the U. S. can’t afford to police the world. Moreover, forever meddling everywhere guarantees endless conflict and war, with tens of thousands of Americans dead, maimed, and wounded.

Finally, promiscuous intervention inevitably makes the U. S. a target of terrorism. As Rep. Paul pointed out, being “over there” — bombing, invading, and occupying Muslim lands — creates enemies. And some of those enemies have proved they are both willing and able, to strike the American homeland. That doesn’t make it right. But it does provide another reason to bring U. S. troops home.

To coin a phrase, it is time for a change. Washington policymakers traded in the American republic for a global empire decades ago. It’s time for the American people to trade back.
